THE CHARTWELL POLO DAY in aid of HOPE FOR TOMORROW
SATURDAY 14th JUNE 2008

An enthusiastic crowd soaked up the sun and helped raise over £24,000 at the Chartwell Polo Day in aid of Hope for Tomorrow and this year they are looking to build on their 2007 total.
200 guests enjoyed a Champagne reception and 3 course lunch, before a charity auction including items such as a holiday in the South of France and a signed England cricket bat, raised over £10,500 towards the day.
With the mobile chemotherapy unit on display, guests also had the opportunity to see at first hand the facility and talk to the team of nurses who have been running the unit since it was launched in February of this year by the charity’s patron Sir Stirling Moss OBE and operational since June.

The birth of 'Hope for Tomorrow' was inspired by the tragic death of David Mills, a generous benefactor of many causes and founder of the 'Art to Give' charity. In his year-long battle with cancer, David and his wife, Christine encountered many frustrations that living with the illness brings and vowed to set up a charity offering real 'Hope for Tomorrow'.
Hope for Tomorrow has developed a number of innovative initiatives including a mobile Chemotherapy unit run by the oncology team from the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust treating chemotherapy patients in Cirencester and Ross-on-Wye. It is hoped the unit will eventually travel further a field, bringing the life-saving treatment to patients throughout Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
