The Calcot Manor Hotel Country Fair 16th - 17th
June 2007

INCORPORATING THE ALL ENGLAND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
FOR THE THE ARGENTINE CLUB CUP AND THE CALCOT MANOR HOTEL CUP
IN AID OF THE COUNTRYSIDE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION
This event was started in 1998 and is now a two-day
Country Fair with an attendance of over 6,000. The event sponsor
since its inauguration has been Calcot Manor Hotel.
The festivities begin on Tuesday 12th June with
the semi-finals of the Argentine Club Cup, which boasts the highest
standard of tournament polo played in Europe, with the finals
on Saturday 16th June. Last year the tournament was won by Hurlingham
(an all-English quartet) who beat Mystery Creek.
The final forms the centre piece of the Calcot
Manor Country Fair (16th – 17th June) with the gates opening
at 10.30am for the first match at 11.30am. Tickets cost just £10
per car on Tuesday and £20 on Saturday and Sunday with a
reserved grandstand seat costing just £15. There will be around 70 tradestands, country side displays and family entertainments including carousel and bungy trampolene over the two days, most of which are free of charge.
Sunday will once again see two teams battle it
out for the Calcot Manor Hotel Cup, last year won by a Highgrove
team that included HRH Prince Harry and England coach Claire Tomlinson,
helping to raise over £30,000 for the Countryside Foundation
For Education.
There are a number of commercial opportunities
available to businesses at different levels and the tournament
will be covered on Sky Sports

ABOUT THE COUNTRYSIDE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION:
The Countryside Foundation for Education (CFE)
is an educational charity, established in 1986. They provide balanced
teaching materials for schools that inform and encourage debate
about the countryside, and also provide training for teachers
about how to use the countryside in their teaching.
They are committed to improving an understanding
of rural Britain and to enhancing and improving the quality of
education for young people in preparation for adult and working
life.Their aim is that their materials and training will result
in a population that, while it may be urban based, is able to
make choices about the countryside from a basis of knowledge and
reason.
